Appointments
Making an appointment
Appointments can be made with the Doctors, the Practice Nurses, the Health Care Assistant and with the Midwife.
Please visit our Consulting Room, ring the surgery or come to the reception to make appointments.
You are free to choose between the available doctors, but we strongly advise you to see your usual doctor for continuing medical care. However, this may not be always possible during busy times or if you want to be seen quickly.
Consultations are for one person only and children under 16 should normally be accompanied by an adult.
We offer 10 minute appointments, some of which can be booked in advance (either 2-3 weeks or 48 hours ahead), and others are same day bookings.
Genuine urgent medical cases will be seen on the same day. This may be out of normal consulting appointment times and you may have to wait.
Appointments with a Nurse
The Practice Nurses hold regular sessions for various problems including health checks, blood pressure measurement, COPD and asthma reviews, advice on weight reduction, smoking cessation, immunisations, smear tests, wound dressings, removal of stitches, ear syringing for ear wax.
Please make it clear that you want an appointment with a Nurse and not a Doctor. If you are able to give the reason for the appointment the correct duration will be allocated for the treatment required.
Minor illness appointments
These are available on some days only. They are with a Nurse who has been specially trained to deal with certain types of illnesses where it is not necessary to consult a Doctor.
Cancellations
Please let us know as soon as possible if you are unable to keep or no longer require an appointment.
